Rockstar Games is Launching Its Very Own Record Label

Rock­star Games has announced it will be launch­ing its very own record label. Music has always been a big ele­ment of the game developer’s hall­mark fran­chise Grand Theft Auto, so it isn’t a big sur­prise Rock­star wants to explore this new endeavor.

Rock­star teamed up with dance par­ty orga­niz­er Cir­coLo­co to build the label. The name of the label will be Cir­coLo­co Records, and it will focus on mesh­ing the worlds of video game music and dance music. GTA V​‘s res­i­dent DJs, like Moody­mann and Dixon, will be brought on to the label, along­side oth­er notable artists like Carl Craig, Luciano and Seth Troxler.

Cir­coLo­co Records’ first EP will be called Mon­day Dreamin’. It will be a com­pi­la­tion album offer­ing ​“con­tri­bu­tions from some of the vision­ar­ies and icons from every era of CircoLoco’s great­est par­ties,” notes Rock­star. ​“Lumartes” by Seth Trox­ler has already been released as the EP’s lead sin­gle. More tracks are expect­ed to drop until the records’ offi­cial launch on July 9.
